Athos Bulcão was a Brazilian painter and sculptor, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1918. His career included collaborations on several of Oscar Niemeyer’s projects in Brasília.

In the 1940s, Bulcão assisted Cândido Portinari with the São Francisco de Assis painting at the Pampulha Church in Belo Horizonte. He later lived in Paris, returned to Brazil, and moved to Brasília in 1958.
