          What the work is

Ross Lovegrove designed this water bottle for Ty Nant Spring Water Ltd. Newfields dates its collection example to 1999–2001 and identifies the material as polyethylene terephthalate, or PET.

          How it was made

The catalogue distinguishes the designer from the manufacturer and records an object approximately 12¾ inches high and three inches wide. It does not document the tooling or production sequence, so those details remain outside this account.

          What works

The object offers a useful shift in scale for design study: a package held in the hand can receive the same close attention as furniture. Compare the bottle’s overall dimensions with the space occupied by its opening and body.

          What does not

Museum inclusion cannot establish grip quality, resistance to damage or environmental performance. Those require handling, testing and lifecycle evidence; the catalogue’s material identification alone does not settle them.

          What it influenced

The bottle appeared in the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s 2009 exhibition European Design Since 1985: Shaping the New Century. That documents curatorial recognition, rather than proving influence on a particular later package.

          Is it worth your time

Worth a focused look for packaging designers. Treat the museum record as a starting point for comparing an everyday container with other designed objects, then separate visual assessment from claims that require practical testing.
